Advocate Late Sri Bechu Singh & Late Sri Ram Sahai Singh with their indomitable will and co-operation of Kshatriya Educational Society laid the foundation of Rana Pratap Degree College in 1971.
Sri Ram Sahai Singh enkindled the flame of learning in Sultanpur as the first president of the college and
Sri Narsingh Pal struggled as the Manager of the college in its provenance and made the light spread in remote countryside. Presently the college is celebrating its 35th year under the prudent guidance of advocate
Sanjai Singh as President and Shubh Narain Singh as Manager.
Rana Pratap Post Graduate College is situated at the heart of the town Sultanpur . River Gomati flows in its northern side. It is the telling the tale of incessant stream of learning. P.W.D. Inspection House is in the vicinity of our college. Railway station and Bus stop are also not further from here. It is neither near nor far from the sound and fury of the urban area. Tranquil and verdant atmosphere of the college fetches the ambition of Stephen leacock for quiet college. Learning and not the booming is identity of our college.
"VIDYA PAURUSHAM TAT – CHA RASHTRIYA SWABHIMANAH '' is the motto of the college. We try to unify the Power with 'learning' that intensifies the National self – regard. Learned teachers and learning students make a college, not the bricks and stones' is the maxim of us.
Rana Pratap Post Graduate College is named after the glory of our nation Mewar Keshari Maharana Pratap. The purpose behind it is that the students here must develop patriotic feeling, sense of sacrifice and patience so that they can play insuperable role in the making of nation. With the aim of imparting good education and making self- reliant citizen there are streams of Arts, Science and Commerce in our college. U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University Centre and is also being run in our college with whole heartedness.
Expanded in 40 acres of land our Institution tries to fetch all the needs of students. Laboratory, Library, Reading room, Teaching Aids, Electronic Devices such as Computer and Colour T.V.- everything is well managed here.
It was the yearning of prudent and learned members of the college management that there must be Department of B.Ed. in our college to train the Graduates and Post graduates for teaching , Affiliation papers for B.Ed. are duly approved by Dr. R.M.L. Avadh University
Faizabad.
No objection Certificate for opening of B.Ed. is obtained from U.P. Government and it is expected to be opened as soon as possible.
